Weekend Recap :: Sweet Virginia

Friday afternoon we packed up Lucy (our car) and drove north for the quickest 5 1/2 hours that ever were. We drove into Virginia just as the sun was starting to go down, the fog was dense, and the traffic was slow. We talked and laughed and planned and listened. Friday night was dinner, wine, catching up, and falling asleep early.

Saturday was an early, snowy morning spent over breakfast with our usual order, at our favorite restaurant in town. Saturday was running errands and a late brunch with my best girlfriend. Saturday was a beautiful sunset and many mugs of tea. Saturday was homemade pizza for dinner and realizing Thomas had a fever and staying up late anyways, just because sleeping would mean Sunday would come too quickly.

Sunday was a slow morning, with homemade breakfast and a drive into the country. There was talk of future babies and future houses and future gardens. We walked and shared and drove and dreamed. When it was that time, we packed up Lucy once again and hugged goodbye and drove south for the longest 5 1/2 hours that ever were.

Blacksburg, we love you. I can't wait for the day we get to call you home once again. This weekend was one of those perfect ones, and I hope I don't forget any of it, ever.

I hope your weekend was wonderful. Now go make it last with a wonderful week!
xoxo, Eliza

Is that the speckled polish that's out now? If so, it's awesome! If not, it's still awesome! Ha :)

Looks like we both had a similarly lovely weekend.

Love,

This post was so beautiful, Eliza. I loved it so.

It also reminds me a lot of a favorite children's book I read to my class every year-- The Relatives Came, by Cynthia Rylant. Do you know it? If not, look for it next time you are a a book store. It's lovely, just like this post.
