This was our kitchen last week. So messy. So gross. Causing me so much frustration + anxiety.
Here's what our kitchen looks like now! I poured every ounce of effort + creative energy I had into this room last week and I'm so happy to say it worked and we now have a kitchen we can stand being in. Dishes don't pile up, there's room to cook better meals, it isn't a safety hazard to turn on the stove. Voila! Feel free to take a look around...
More on my coffee space over here.
I keep a handful of soaps around because it makes doing dishes more enjoyable.
The insides of the cupboards still need a little work + the whole kitchen needs a good Martha Stewart style cleaning, but otherwise, it's kind of perfect and I'm so happy with how this room turned out.
Do you have any tips on how to make a rental feel more like home?
xoxo, Eliza

Beautiful kitchen! I think you need some cupcakes in your kitchen. LOL

ooh everything's so cute and colorful! Love the knives and pots/pans, adorbs.
Love that blue colander!
Love all the little touches you've added Eliza (especially that fabulous bag holder ;) There's not much else you can do with a space that isn't technically yours, but maybe ask if you can get rid of the wallpaper and paint it on your own? They may let you, if you do the work and supply the paint :)
Your kitchen looks great! Keeping things neat and organized always makes me feel more at home wherever I am.
You're kitchen is beautiful
You have such a fun kitchen! I love all the little pops of color! I think I need to keep multiple dish soaps on hand. I despise doing the dishes, but I think that really would make it a bit more bearable!
I love all of the colorful details! Especially the cake stand that you put soap on! The old canisters are a nice touch too. Hope you're enjoying it now :)
looks great!

It is so hard when you are renting, especially relatively short term because it is hard to find motivations (for me anyway!) to really put a lot of work into it to make it YOURS. My houses are always pretty simple. Maybe a few pictures on the wall, but that's about the extent of it.
BTW, I totally can relate on the messy kitchen causing stress and anxiety! It can be a vicious cycle sometimes. The mess causes anxiety, and the anxiety causes mess. Way to go breaking that up!
